BRIDGEVIEW, Ill., May 2 (UPI) -- Tyrone Marshall's goal in the 74th minute Saturday lifted the Seattle Sounders into a 1-1 tie against the Chicago Fire.

Marshall's first goal this season came after an assist by Freddie Ljungberg.

The tie gave the expansion Sounders a 4-2-1 record and one point in the Western Conference standings, while Chicago earned one point in the East.

The Sounders overcame the ejection of star forward Freddy Montero, who drew a red card in the 48th minute.

Chicago took a 1-0 lead when Marco Pappa broke through in the 68th minute on an assist from Cuauhtemoc Blanco.

The Fire (2

5) remain the only MLS team yet to lose in the 2009 season.
