MLB: Detroit 9, Cleveland 7

DETROIT, May 2 (UPI) -- Curtis Granderson hit a two-run homer in a three-run eighth Saturday to power the Detroit Tigers to a 9-7 win over the Cleveland Indians.

Adam Everett hit a grand slam homer for the Tigers, who stopped a three-game losing streak. Ryan Raburn, Magglio Ordonez and Carlos Guillen each had RBIs for Detroit.

Joel Zumaya (1-0) earned the win with a scoreless eighth inning. Fernando Rodney allowed two hits in the ninth, but still got his fifth save.

Detroit starter Zach Miner gave up six hits and five runs in five innings.

Asdrubal Cabrera had two hits and three RBI for the Indians, who have lost three of their last five games. Shin-Soo Choo had two RBI and Victor Martinez had an RBI and two runs scored for Cleveland.

Rafael Betancourt (0-1) was charged with both the loss and a blown save after allowing three runs on three hits in 1 2/3 relief innings.
