PHOENIX, April 29 (UPI) -- Doug Davis and two relievers combined on a two-hit shutout Wednesday, helping the Arizona Diamondbacks record a 10-0 win over the Chicago Cubs.
The 33-year-old Davis (2-3), a thyroid cancer survivor last season, surrendered both hits in seven scoreless innings with three walks and seven strikeouts before a mop-up by relievers Tony Pena in the eighth and Juan Gutierrez in the ninth.
Chad Tracy led the offense with three hits -- one a third-inning solo homer -- and three RBI.
Justin Upton had two hits and three RBI.
Conor Jackson drove in two with two bases-loaded walks, while two others had one RBI for the Diamondbacks, who won twice in the three-game series.
They went 5-4 during their nine-game homestand.
Chicago's hits came from Ryan Theriot in the first and Aaron Miles in the seventh.
Losing pitcher Ryan Dempster (1-1) gave up five earned runs and six hits in six innings with three walks and four strikeouts.
