NHL: Chicago 4, Calgary 1

CALGARY, Alberta, April 28 (UPI) -- Nikolai Khabibulin stopped 43 shots Monday and the Chicago Blackhawks beat Calgary 4-1 to take their first playoff series since 1996.

The fourth-seeded Blackhawks won the Western Conference quarterfinal series 4-2 -- winning their first post-season series since sweeping the Flames 13 years ago.

Dustin Byfuglien had a goal and two assists and Patrick Kane had a goal and an assist for Chicago, which also got goals from Adam Burish and Brian Campbell.

Todd Bertuzzi scored a goal and Miikka Kiprusoff gave up three goals on 15 shots for the Flames, who were eliminated in the opening round for a fourth straight season.
