NHL: Anaheim 4, San Jose 1

ANAHEIM, Calif., April 28 (UPI) -- Jonas Hiller stopped 36 shots Monday and the Anaheim Ducks beat San Jose 4-1 to eliminate the top-seeded Sharks in their Western Conference quarterfinal series.

Corey Perry, Teemu Selanne, Francois Beauchemin and Ryan Getzlaf scored for Anaheim against the Sharks, who came into the post-season with the best regular-season record in the NHL after posting franchise records with 117 points and 53 victories.

Milan Michalek scored on the power play and Evgeni Nabokov gave up four goals on 32 shots for San Jose.

Anaheim, the No. 8 seed, advances to the second round against the defending Stanley Cup champion Detroit Red Wings, who swept Columbus in four games in their quarterfinal series.
