
ATLANTA, April 28 (UPI) -- Matt Diaz hit a two-run single in the bottom of the eighth Tuesday, delivering the Atlanta Braves a 2-1 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals.
Diaz drove in Omar Infante and Chipper Jones, who both had drawn walks. Jones walked four times for the Braves, who got their fourth win in their last six games.
Jo-Jo Reyes worked seven innings for the Braves, allowing one run on three hits and one walk and striking out seven. Peter Moylan (1-1) earned the victory with a perfect eighth inning.
Yadier Molina drove in the only St. Louis run and extended his hitting streak to 12 games for St. Louis, which lost for only the second time in its last eight games. Kyle McClellan (1-1) took the loss after allowing for two runs on one hit and three walks in two-thirds of an inning.
