
TEMPE, Ariz., April 28 (UPI) -- The Arizona Cardinals released veteran running back Edgerrin James Tuesday.
James, 30, rushed for just 514 yards and three touchdowns on 133 carries while adding 12 receptions for 85 yards in 2008, his third season with Arizona.
Since signing as a free agent prior to the 2006 season out of Indianapolis, James had 2,895 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns on 794 carries in 45 games (32 starts).
James added 74 catches for 506 yards for the Cardinals, who won the NFC West and advanced to Super Bowl XLIII before losing to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
In 141 games through 10 pro seasons with Indianapolis and Arizona, James has gained 12,121 yards with 80 TDs on 2,982 carries. He also had 3,345 and 11 touchdowns on 430 receptions.
