Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

ATLANTA, April 27 (UPI) -- Rick Ankiel drove in two runs Monday to help the St. Louis Cardinals post a 3-2 victory over the Atlanta Braves.
Chris Duncan had an RBI for the Cardinals, who won for the sixth time in their last seven games.
Winner Joel Pineiro (4-0) allowed two runs on seven hits in 6 2/3 innings.
Jair Jurrjens (2-2) took the loss after giving up two runs on six hits in six innings.
Casey Kotchman went 3-for-4 with two doubles for the Braves, who batted just 1-for-8 with runners in scoring position. Jeff Francoeur and David Ross drove in the runs for Atlanta.
