MLB: New York Mets 7, Florida 1

NEW YORK, April 27 (UPI) -- Omir Santos hit a grand slam for his first major league homer in a six-run first Monday to lead the New York Mets to a 7-1 win over Florida.

David Wright had a triple, two runs and an RBI, and Gary Sheffield and Ryan Church also had an RBI apiece for the Mets, who have won three out of four.

John Maine (1-2) gave up just one hit and one unearned run in a six-inning start.

Emilio Bonifacio and Jorge Cantu had the lone two hits for the Marlins, who have lost seven straight games.

Anibal Sanchez (1-2) also worked six innings, allowing six runs on eight hits.
