Lakers' Fisher says he's being stalked

LOS ANGELES, April 27 (UPI) -- Los Angeles authorities have granted Lakers star Derek Fisher's request for a temporary restraining order against a woman Fisher says has stalked him for years.

In court papers requesting the restraining order, Fisher and his attorneys identified the woman as Symone Fisher, noting that she had her last name legally changed to Fisher, the Los Angeles Times said Monday.

Court documents indicate Symone Fisher, 40, has sent numerous e-mails and letters to the Lakers claiming she is married to the Lakers guard, who says he has never met her. The court filing indicates she has begun showing up at the Lakers practice facility and has also been seen near Derek Fisher's home.

"Her repeated attempts to contact me, her delusional notions that we are married, her angry and hostile tirades against me, her appearance at my place of work, and her recent travels near and around my place of residence are all extremely frightening to me," Derek Fisher said in the request for a restraining order.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Detective Rod Wagner said the "recent escalation in Symone Fisher's delusional thoughts and behaviors" made it necessary to take out a restraining order to protect Derek Fisher and his family, the Times said.

Derek Fisher's head of personal security, Duran McGregory, said in court documents Symone Fisher sent the basketball star CDs containing love songs during the 2001-02 NBA season and changed her name to Fisher during the 2005-06 season. McGregory said Symone Fisher wrote in letters that God wanted Derek Fisher and her to be together and that they should be married.
