NHL: Carolina 4, New Jersey 0

RALEIGH, N.C., April 26 (UPI) -- Carolina's Cam Ward made 28 saves and the Hurricanes beat the New Jersey Devils 4-0 Sunday, forcing a seventh game in their Eastern Conference playoff series.

Eric Staal had two goals and an assist, Ray Whitney contributed a goal and three assists and Jussi Jokinen added a goal for Carolina.

Brendan Shanahan had five shots on goal for New Jersey, leading the Devils in that category.

Devils' goalie Martin Brodeur stopped 33 shots.

Game 7 will be played Tuesday in New Jersey.
