PHILADELPHIA, April 24 (UPI) -- A layup by Thaddeus Young with 2.2 seconds remaining Friday gave the Philadelphia 76ers a 96-94 win over Orlando and a one-game lead in their playoff series.
For the second time in the series, Philadelphia came up with a game-winning shot in the closing moments. The Sixers hold a 2-1 advantage over the third-seeded Magic and will host the fourth game of the series Sunday.
Philadelphia held a narrow lead for most of the tense fourth quarter, but Rafer Alston tied it for Orlando by making two free throws with 6.9 seconds to play.
After a time out, Young took the inbounds pass and drove the baseline. He was able to avoid a wall of defenders to get to the basket and lay it in.
A 3-point heave by Orlando's Rashard Lewis at the buzzer slammed off the backboard.
Philadelphia, which built a 60-49 halftime lead, was led by a playoff career high 29 points from Andre Iguodala. Andre Miller added 24 points with nine rebounds and seven assists.
Orlando's Dwight Howard also had the highest scoring playoff game of his career, producing 36 points to go with 11 rebounds.
Iguodala gave Philadelphia a 100-98 victory in the first game of the series last Sunday by hitting a jumper with 2 seconds remaining.
