KANSAS CITY, Mo., April 24 (UPI) -- Zack Greinke kept his ERA at 0.00 for the season Friday, allowing only an unearned tally and going the distance in Kansas City's 6-1 win over Detroit.
Greinke (4-0) gave up three hits and struck out 10, producing his second straight complete game. In 29 innings this season, he has struck out 36 and allowed just six walks.
A miscue in the fifth inning by shortstop Mike Aviles brought about Detroit's only run and ended Greinke's string of 43 consecutive shutout innings dating back to last season.
With Gerald Laird on second and one away, Greinke got Josh Anderson to fly out to center. Laird took third on the play and scored when Aviles' relay throw got away for an error.
Mark Teahen gave Kansas City the lead with a two-run homer in the first inning and Alberto Callaspo had a solo shot in the second. Coco Crisp contributed two RBI -- one on a fielder's choice grounder in the fifth and another on a single in the seventh.
Rick Porcello (1-2) suffered the loss, giving up four hits and five runs in six innings.
