
CLEVELAND, April 23 (UPI) -- Grady Sizemore's three-run eighth-inning homer Thursday lifted the Cleveland Indians to a 5-2 victory over the Kansas City Royals.
Sizemore, with the score tied 2-2 and one out, whacked his sixth homer this season. connecting on a pitch from reliever Ron Mahay. The hit capped a four-run rally, with the other run scoring on error by second baseman Alberto Callaspo.
Cleveland got its other run in the second on a throwing error by Kansas City catcher John Buck.
Winner Jensen Lewis (2-2) threw two scoreless innings of one-hit ball in relief of starter Anthony Reyes and closer Kerry Wood earned his third save with a 1-2-3 ninth.
Callapso and Billy Butler each drove in a run for the Royals.
Mark Teahen had two of the five hits for Kansas City, which who has lost three of four.
The losing pitcher was starter Gil Meche (1-1).
