ST. LOUIS, April 22 (UPI) -- The Vancouver Canucks advanced to the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs Tuesday by beating the St. Louis Blues 3-2 in the closing seconds of overtime.

Alex Burrows fired a wrist shot from the right circle past Chris Mason with 19 seconds to play in the extra period to complete the sweep of the Blues.

Burrows also had a goal in regulation as did Kyle Wellwood. Roberto Luongo turned in 47 saves, including 18 in the overtime period.

Mason stopped 33 shots for the Blues, who had goals from Brad Boyes and David Perron.

Wellwood's goal 5:20 into the game put Vancouver ahead 1-0. The Canucks went up 2-0 at 9:23 of the second period on Burrows' first goal of the game.

St. Louis stormed back with a pair of goals in span of 3:24 to tie the game 2-2. Boyes scored on a rebound off a shot by Barret Jackman. The tally was followed a few minutes later when Perron punched the puck past Luongo amid a crowd in front of the net.
