PORTLAND, Ore., April 22 (UPI) -- Brandon Roy pumped in 42 points to carry Portland to a 107-103 win over Houston, evening the playoff series between the Trail Blazers and Rockets at 1-1.
Roy scored a dozen points in the fourth quarter, which included an 11-1 stretch run by the Blazers, and also pulled down seven rebounds for the game.
Portland outscored Houston in the fourth quarter, which began with the game tied 73-73. Roy hit a free throw and Aaron Brooks scored on a three-pointer to put Portland ahead 105-103 with 1.5 seconds left to play.
LaMarcus Aldridge chipped in 27 points and a dozen rebounds for Portland, which is hosting its first playoff series in six seasons.
Houston had six players in double figures, led by Brooks's 23. Yao Ming, who scored 24 for Houston in the series opener, was limited to 11 Tuesday and shot a modest 3-of-6 from the field.
The Rockets closed to 104-100 on Brooks's 3-pointer with 6.3 seconds left. After Roy hit a free throw, Brooks made another 3 to make it 105-103 with 1.5 seconds to go.
Rudy Fernandez sealed the win hitting two free throws for Portland.
