ATLANTA, April 22 (UPI) -- Dwyane Wade led the way with 33 points Wednesday, helping Miami seize control early en route to a 108-93 victory over Atlanta.
The Heat tied the best-of-seven playoff series at 1-1, building an 18-point lead in the opening moments of the third period.
Atlanta closed with five with 4 minutes to play, but Udonis Haslem slowed down the comeback with a jumper and Wade's 3-pointer with 2:36 remaining gave Miami a 101-91 cushion.
Wade's effort followed a 19-point performance in the first game of the series, during which he committed eight turnovers in a 26-point loss.
Miami will host the third game Saturday.
Daequan Cook made 6-of-9 attempts from 3-point range and scored 20 points for Miami. Jermaine O'Neal added 19.
