MLB: Atlanta 1, Washington 0

WASHINGTON, April 22 (UPI) -- Kelly Johnson drew a bases-loaded walk with two out in the ninth Wednesday, giving Atlanta a 1-0 victory over Washington.

After losing 10 of their first 11 games, the Nationals had won two in a row and got a tremendous start from John Lannan, who allowed five hits over seven innings.

Atlanta's Jair Jurrjens responded with a six-hit performance over 7 2/3 and Mike Gonzalez teamed with Rafael Soriano to retire the last four Nationals in order.

Gonzalez (1-0) got the win and Soriano his second save. It was only the second Atlanta win in nine games.

Matt Diaz got the Atlanta ninth started with a one-out single off Garrett Mock (0-1) and was then thrown out at second on Casey Kotchman's grounder back to the pitcher.

Mock walked Jordon Schafer, Omar Infante came in to run for Kotchman at second and Michael Hinckley relieved Mock. Hinckley promptly walked pinch-hitter Martin Prado and he walked Johnson as well on a 3-1 pitch to force in Infante.
