BOSTON, April 21 (UPI) -- Boston Celtics reserve forward Leon Powe will miss the remainder of the NBA playoffs because of a knee injury, The Boston Globe reported Tuesday.

The Celtics already are playing without star forward Kevin Garnett, who likely will also miss the rest of the defending champions' playoff run. Garnett also has a knee injury.

Boston and the Chicago Bulls are tied 1-1 in their first-round playoff match-up. Powe injured his left knee in a 118-115 victory over the Bulls Monday.

"He's obviously out for the playoffs," Celtics Coach Doc Rivers told the Globe. "Surgery will be determined when it's determined. So obviously a tough break."

The 25-year-old Powe's injury was first diagnosed as a sprain but turned out to be a torn ligament.

Powe averaged 7.7 points per contest in 70 regular season games.
