R.J. Umberger had a power-play goal and Steve Mason stopped 22-of-25 shots for the Blue Jackets.

Mason, a rookie, helped Columbus go 33-20-7 with a 2.29 goals-against average in the regular season.

Mason reportedly could become just the fifth netminder to win both the Calder Trophy as the top freshman and the Vezina Trophy as the league's best goalie. Ed Belfour was the last goalie to win both honors with Chicago in 1991.
