NEW YORK, April 19 (UPI) -- Richie Weeks had three hits and Jeff Suppan picked up the win despite giving up eight hits Sunday in the Milwaukee Brewers 4-2 win over the New York Mets.
Suppan (1-2) allowed both New York runs in six plus innings. Todd Coffey went 2 2/3 scoreless innings in relief to notch the save.
The win prevented the Mets from sweeping the weekend series at Citi Field. Omir Santos, who had a double and a triple plus a run scored, drove in one of New York's runs while Jose Reyes drove in the other.
Nelson Figueroa (0-1) took the loss in a solid start, giving up three runs on five hits and striking out three in six innings.
Weeks went 3-for-5 with an RBI. Mike Cameron's solo home run in the sixth staked Milwaukee to a 3-1 lead and turned out to be the deciding run.
The Mets, who out-hit Milwaukee 12-8, staged a rally in the seventh that chased Suppan from the game but ultimately resulted in just one run.
Santos opened the frame with a triple and scored on the first of two consecutive 1-out singles. After Mark DiFelice loaded the bases with a walk to David Wright, Coffey came in and got Carlos Delgado -- who had 13 RBIs in 11 games -- to ground into a double play that ended the threat.
