MLB: Minnesota 9, Los Angeles Angels 2

MINNEAPOLIS, April 18 (UPI) -- Jason Kubel was 4-for-5 and hit a two-run double in the fifth Saturday to lead the Minnesota Twins to a 9-2 win over the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

Kubel also scored three times. Delmon Young drove in three runs and Brendan Harris had three hits and scored twice for the Twins.

Kevin Slowey (2-0) allowed six hits and two runs over seven innings to get the win.

Torii Hunter hit a two-run homer for the Angels, who lost for the fourth time in five games.

Kevin Jepsen (0-2) took the loss after giving up five runs on three hits and three walks in 2/3 of an inning.
