NEW YORK, April 18 (UPI) -- Asdrubal Cabrera's grand slam highlighted a 14-run outburst in the second inning Saturday and Cleveland thrashed the New York Yankees 22-4.
The Indians' big inning tied a franchise record and was the most ever given up by the Yankees in a single frame.
Every Cleveland starter had a hit in the inning, with Shin-Soo Choo hitting a three-run homer. Mark DeRosa finished the game 4-for-7 with a home run and six RBI. Grady Sizemore hit a home run and two doubles.
Victor Martinez and Travis Hafner also homered for the Indians and Jhonny Peralta had three hits, three runs scored and two RBI.
Starter Fausto Carmona (1-2) went six innings, allowing four runs on six hits and four walks.
The victim of the Indians' barrage was Chien-Ming Wang (0-3), who failed to get out of the second inning for the second straight start. The two-time 19-game winner allowed eight runs on eight hits while recording just four outs.
