MINNEAPOLIS, April 16 (UPI) -- Ike Diogu scored 28 points Wednesday in helping Sacramento end a dismal season on an upbeat with a 97-90 victory over Minnesota.

The Kings ended a nine-game losing streak, but their 16-65 record is still the worst in team history. The last time the franchise failed to reach 20 victories came 49 years ago, when as the Cincinnati Royals they went 19-56.

Andres Nocioni added 17 points for Sacramento.

Minnesota's season came to a close with three straight losses. Craig Smith led the Timberwolves with 18 points. Minnesota wound up winning more games on the road (13) than they did at home (11).

The victory was only the sixth on the road all season for Sacramento, which finished tied with Washington for fewest in the league in that category.
