LOS ANGELES, April 16 (UPI) -- James Loney drew a bases-loaded walk from Bob Howry with one out in the ninth Wednesday, giving the Los Angeles Dodgers a 5-4 win over San Francisco.
Loney's sacrifice fly drove in one of the Dodgers' two runs in the eighth that tied the game and Los Angeles then won its second straight over the Giants by loading the bases with none away in the ninth.
Orlando Hudson opened the ninth with a single off Howry (0-1), Manny Ramirez singled Hudson to third and Andre Ethier was walked intentionally to load the bases.
Hudson was thrown out at home on Russell Martin's grounder to shortstop, but Loney worked a 3-2 count against Howry and then looked at ball four.
The Los Angeles comeback gave the win to Jonathan Broxton (1-0), who struck out two while working a 1-2-3 top of the ninth.
Aaron Rowand hit a three-run homer in the San Francisco eighth, giving the Giants a brief 4-2 lead.
