CLEVELAND, April 15 (UPI) -- Andre Miller equaled his season best with 30 points Wednesday, helping carry Philadelphia to an unexpected 111-110 victory over Cleveland.
With the Cavaliers resting their top players for the playoffs, Cleveland missed a chance to match the best regular-season home record in NBA history.
Cleveland finished the campaign with a 39-2 home mark. The 1985-86 Boston Celtics set the record by going 40-1.
Miller's two free throws with 16 seconds gave Philadelphia a three-point lead. After Daniel Gibson's layup brought Cleveland within one with 7 seconds to go, Miller missed two foul shots. Cleveland, however, could not get off a good shot in the time remaining.
The Cavaliers played without LeBron James, Mo Williams, Zydrunas Ilgauskas and Joe Smith.
Cleveland, owners of the best record in the NBA, was already locked into a first-round playoff meeting with Detroit. Philadelphia's win, combined with Chicago's loss to Toronto, boosted the 76ers past the Bulls into the No. 6 seed. Philadelphia will take on Orlando in the opening round.
