LOS ANGELES, April 15 (UPI) -- Andrew Bynum and Pau Gasol combined for 42 points Tuesday, pacing the Los Angeles Lakers to a 125-112 win over Utah to end the regular season for both clubs.
The win confirmed that the Lakers and Jazz will face off in Round 1 of the playoffs and that Los Angeles will enjoy home court advantage throughout the Western Conference playoffs. The Lakers hold the No. 1 seed and the Jazz are No. 8.
Bynum had 22 points and Gasol had 20 to go with nine rebounds and six assists. Kobe Bryant and Lamar Odom added 16 apiece.
Dron Williams had a game-high 25 points and 13 assists for Utah. Andrei Kirilenko added 20 points and Carlos Boozer had 16 with nine rebounds.
Los Angeles put the game away in the second half after Utah took a 27-25 lead at the end of the first y quarter and trailed by one point, 56-55, at the half.
The Lakers jumped to a 68-59 lead on Derrick Fisher's 3-pointer early in the third quarter, but Utah battled back to tie the game 68-68 with 5:42 left in the quarter.
A pair of three-point shots by Jordan Farmar and Bryant along with two field goals by Gasol gave Los Angeles a 101-83 lead early in the fourth quarter that Utah was unable to seriously challenge.
