
MINNEAPOLIS, April 14 (UPI) -- Joe Crede doubled in the winning run in the bottom of the 11th inning Tuesday to hand the Minnesota Twins a 3-2 win over Toronto.
Justin Morneau was 3-for-5 with a double and a run batted in for the Twins, who had lost 10 straight to Blue Jays.
Glen Perkins, who was tagged with a loss in his first outing despite giving up just one run in eight innings, this time gave up two runs on seven hits over eight innings but didn't figure in the decision. Jesse Crain (1-0) pitched the final two innings to collect the win.
Rod Barajas had two hits and an RBI for the Blue Jays. Ricky Romero allowed two runs on eight hits in eight innings. Jesse Carlson (0-1) was the losing pitcher after giving up one run on two hits in 1 2/3 innings.
With one out in the 11th, Morneau singled through the right side of the infield. An out later, Crede drove a ball to the center field wall and Morneau scored from first base.
