Published: April 14, 2009 at 1:55 PM

DETROIT, April 14 (UPI) -- Rain in the Detroit area led to the postponement of Tuesday's game between the Chicago White Sox and Detroit Tigers.

No makeup date was announced. The White Sox have series scheduled in Detroit in July and October.

Temperatures in the low 40s and persistent rain led Tigers' officials to call Tuesday's game. More rain is predicted for Wednesday when the teams are to wrap up their series.

Tigers rookie Rick Porcello was scheduled to start Tuesday's game for Detroit while John Danks was to pitch for Chicago.
