The start of the game was delayed 1 hour, 12 minutes by heavy winds and rain in Chicago.

Lilly (2-0) allowed only three base-runners in 6 2/3 innings. He was pulled in the seventh after allowing a two-out base hit to Garrett Atkins and a walk to Seth Smith.

Derrek Lee and Koyie Hill each went 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI to lead the Cubs to their third straight win.

Colorado's Ubaldo Jimenez (1-1) gave up three runs on four hits and six walks in 3 2/3 innings.

It was the Rockies' third straight loss.
