CLEVELAND, April 12 (UPI) -- LeBron James had 29 points, four rebounds and seven assists Sunday to lead the Cleveland Cavaliers to a 107-76 rout of the reigning NBA champion Boston Celtics.
Cleveland made a powerful statement by storming out to a 31-9 lead after the first period. The lead was 52-33 at the break and swelled to 98-62 on Darnell Jackson's jumper with 6:07 left.
Daniel Gibson scored 15 with four rebounds. Mo Williams scored 13 with four rebounds and six assists for the Cavaliers, who can equal Boston's record for home wins in a single season (40) if they beat Philadelphia Wednesday in their regular-season finale.
Paul Pierce led Boston with 14 points and three assists. Glen Davis scored 12 with four rebounds, while Mikki Moore -- the only Boston other player in double figures -- scored 10 with three rebounds for the Celtics, who had won 10 of their previous 11 contests.
