SAN DIEGO, April 12 (UPI) -- Adrian Gonzalez's three-run fifth-inning double was the key hit Saturday in San Diego's 6-3 win over San Francisco.

The game was tied 1-1 when Henry Blanco started the outburst with a solo homer. Blanco finished with two runs, three hits and two RBI.

Chase Headley's lone hit was a sixth-inning solo homer for the Padres, who have won four of six to begin the 2009 season.

Winner Jake Peavy (1-1) allowed three earned runs and seven hits in 8 1/3 innings with no walks and 10 strikeouts. Closer Heath Bell got the last two outs to earn his third save.

San Francisco's Randy Winn scored on a third-inning double steal and had three of his team's seven hits.

Bengie Molina hit a sacrifice fly, and one of two hits by Fred Lewis was a ninth-inning RBI double for the Giants, who have lost three of five.

The losing pitcher was starter Jonathan Sanchez (0-1).
