UNIONDALE, N.Y., April 11 (UPI) -- Simon Gagne had a goal and an assist and Martin Biron stopped 30 shots Saturday to key the Philadelphia Flyers' 3-2 win over the New York Islanders.
Joffrey Lupul and Mike Knuble also scored for Philadelphia, which will close out its regular season Sunday at home against the New York Rangers. With 99 points, the Flyers are fourth in the Eastern Conference playoff chase, leading Pittsburgh and Carolina by two points.
Sean Bergenheim and Tim Jackman scored and Yann Danis had 24 saves for the Islanders, who will take a three-game losing streak into their regular-season finale Sunday against Boston -- and are already assured of finishing with the worst record in the NHL this season.
Bergenheim gave the Islanders a 1-0 lead at 14:06 of the first period but Lupul got the equalizer 5:04 into the second. Knuble put New York up 2-1 with a power-play goal at 10:51 of the second and Jackman knotted it up at 2-2 with a goal at 15:27 of the second.
Gagne scored the decisive goal less than a minute later.
