NHL: Florida 7, Washington 4

SUNRISE, Fla., April 11 (UPI) -- David Booth had two goals and three assists Saturday, sparking Florida's 7-4 win over Washington in the Panthers' regular-season finale.

The Panthers did not make the playoffs. The Capitals (50-24-8) won the Southeast Division and finished their regular season with 108 points, good for the second seed in the East.

Radek Dvorak, Bryan McCabe, Steve Eminger and Michael Frolik scored goals for Florida. Tomas Vokoun stopped 37 shots in the victory.

Alexander Semin scored twice for Capitals. Brooks Laich and Alexander Ovechkin had one goal apiece. Jose Theodore let in six goals on 41 shots for Washington, which will take on the seventh-seeded New York Rangers in the first round.

Florida took a 3-2 lead into the third period, and then erupted for four goals to wrap up the victory.
