
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., April 11 (UPI) -- Vince Carter's 27 points and nine assists Saturday helped the New Jersey Nets record a 103-93 win over the Orlando Magic.
New Jersey, which had lost eight of 10, shot 54.3 percent from the floor and led 57-47 at halftime.
Brook Lopez scored 13 with 11 rebounds. Keyon Dooling scored 12 points with 10 assists for the Nets.
Hedo Turkoglu had 16 points and six rebounds for Orlando before he was helped off the court in the fourth quarter after rolling his left ankle. Mickael Pietrus and Tony Battie scored 14 points each, while Dwight Howard, playing just 26 minutes, was held to seven points and eight rebounds for the Magic, who lost back-to-back games for just the third time this season.
Orlando is 2 1/2 games behind Boston in the chase for the No. 2 playoff seed in the Eastern Conference.
