NHL: Pittsburgh 6, New York Islanders 1

PITTSBURGH, April 9 (UPI) -- Six Pittsburgh players scored and Mathieu Garon blocked 28 shots Thursday in a 6-1 Penguins rout of the New York Islanders.

Pittsburgh, which is headed for the playoffs, got goals from Philippe Boucher, Pascal Dupuis, Matt Cooke, Bill Guerin, Sidney Crosby and Tyler Kennedy.

Frans Nielsen scored for the Islanders, who will not be in the playoffs.

Islanders goalie Joey McDonald was credited with 31 saves.
