NHL: New York Rangers 2, Philadelphia 1

NEW YORK, April 9 (UPI) -- The New York Rangers, with goalie Henrik Lundqvist turning back 37 shots, edged the Philadelphia Flyers 2-1 Thursday and clinched a berth in the NHL playoffs.

Markus Naslund and Ryan Callahan scored the Rangers' goals and Chris Drury contributed two assists.

Danny Briere registered Philadelphia's goal.

Goaltender Martin Biron blocked 29 shots for the Flyers, who secured a playoff spot earlier this week.
