PHOENIX, April 8 (UPI) -- Two goals by B.J. Crombeen were all the St. Louis Blues needed to beat Phoenix 5-1 Tuesday and stay in the playoff hunt.
Keith Tkachuk, Brad Winchester and David Perron also had goals for the Blues, who have 88 points as do the Anaheim Ducks who own the tie-breaker.
Chris Mason made 28 saves but looked sharp against Phoenix, which is out of the playoff race and lost its second consecutive game. The Coyotes got their lone goal from Scottie Upshall while starting goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov was pulled after the second period after allowing all four goals on just 21 shots.
Phoenix opened the scoring at 6:14 of the first period during a scrum in front of Bryzgalov. The goal was Upshall's 11th of the season.
St Louis tied the game at the 11-minute mark on Crombeen's goal and took a 2-1 lead 17 seconds into the second period on Winchester's 13th goal of the season. Tkachuk and Crombeen also scored in the second to make it 4-1.
Perron closed out the scoring in the third period, during which Phoenix's backup goalie, Al Montoya, made all of two saves.
