SAN ANTONIO, April 8 (UPI) -- Brandon Roy and LaMarcus Aldridge led a stunning comeback Wednesday that brought Portland a 95-83 victory over San Antonio.

The Trail Blazers won in San Antonio for the first time in 12 tries and downed the Spurs for only the fourth time in their last 24 meetings overall.

San Antonio fell back into a tie with idle Houston for first place in the Southwest Division. Both teams have four games remaining. New Orleans, which also had the night off, is now 1 1/2 games out of the top spot in the division.

The Spurs led by as many as 19 points in the second quarter, but Portland closed within two at halftime and then limited San Antonio to 34 points during the final two periods.

Portland began the night 2 1/2 games behind Denver in the race for the Northwest Division title.

Roy made all eight of his free-throw attempts and scored 28 points. Aldridge was 10-of-14 from the field and scored 20 points.

Roger Mason led the Spurs with 18. Mason is starting in place of guard Manu Ginobili, who is out for the rest of the season with a stress fracture in his right fibula. San Antonio center Tim Duncan was also held out for much of the second half because of a sore knee.
