MIAMI, April 8 (UPI) -- Rasual Butler sent the game into overtime with a 3-pointer Tuesday and the New Orleans Hornets went on to beat the Miami Heat 93-87.
David West scored eight of his 20 points in overtime for the Hornets, who remained a game behind Portland for the fifth seed in the Western Conference.
Chris Paul had 26 points, nine rebounds, nine assists and six steals for New Orleans, and Peja Stojakovic had 24 points, six rebounds and four steals.
Dwyane Wade had 32 points, seven rebounds and six assists for the Heat, who remained a half-game ahead of Philadelphia for the fifth spot in the Eastern Conference. Michael Beasley had 25 points and nine rebounds in the loss.
