CHICAGO, April 8 (UPI) -- Kirk Hinrich came off the bench Tuesday to score 25 points in the Chicago Bulls' 110-103 win over the New York Knicks.
John Salmons added 19 points, Tyrus Thomas and Derrick Rose 18 apiece and Ben Gordon 17 as the Bulls won for the 12th time in their last 13 games at United Center. Chicago moved within one-half game of idle Detroit for seventh place in the Eastern Conference.
The Knicks were led by Wilson Chandler's 26 points. Al Harrington added 23.
Chicago broke this game in the fourth quarter, with a 15-0 run punctuated by a Rose basket that made it 100-90 with 5:16 remaining.
The Knicks battled back within two but could get no closer. In the final minute, Thomas batted away a Quentin Richardson shot -- his fourth block of the game -- and then made two free throws with 14.3 seconds left to clinch the win.
