
ANAHEIM, Calif., April 8 (UPI) -- Jack Cust went 3-for-4, scored a run and drove in two Tuesday in the Oakland Athletics' 6-4 win over the Los Angeles Angels.
Ryan Sweeney and Jason Giambi also had three hits each as Oakland evened its season-opening series with the Angels. Giambi scored a run and had an RBI Eric Chavez, Travis Buck and Mark Ellis also drove in runs.
Oakland starter Trevor Cahill gave up three runs -- two earned -- on five hits and five walks in five innings in his no-decision major league debut. The win went to Michael Wuertz (1-0), who threw a scoreless sixth inning.
Angels starter Dustin Moseley also didn't figure in the decision, giving up three runs on nine hits over six innings. The loss went to Kevin Jepsen (0-1), who allowed two runs in one inning of relief.
Bobby Abreu drove in two runs and Kendry Morales went 2-for-3 with an RBI for the losers.
