NHL: Washington 4, Atlanta 2

ATLANTA, April 7 (UPI) -- Tomas Fleischmann, Viktor Kozlov and Alexander Semin scored in the first period Tuesday, sending Washington to a 4-2 win over Atlanta.

Simeon Varlamov made 29 saves for the Capitals, who now have 106 points and a four-point lead in the Southeast Division with two games left. Sergei Fedorov also scored for the Capitals.

Marty Reasoner and Rich Peverley scored for Atlanta. Ondrej Pavelec allowed four goals on 26 shots.
