MEMPHIS, April 6 (UPI) -- Assistant Coach Josh Pastner, 31, has been named to succeed John Calipari as head basketball coach at the University of Memphis.

Calipari, who had been Memphis coach for nine years, has switched to the University of Kentucky.

Pastner, who was Calipari's assistant this past season, was an assistant to Lute Olsen at Arizona between 2003-08.

Pastner takes over a program that went 33-4 last season under Calipari. The Tigers have a 61-game winning streak against Conference USA opponents and four straight league championships.
