BOSTON, April 6 (UPI) -- Boston University has hired Patrick Chambers as its new men's head basketball coach, the school said Monday.

Chambers, 37, was Jay Wright's associate head coach with Villanova this season, helping lead the Wildcats to the Final Four. He joined Villanova in 2004 as the school's director of basketball operations.

Chambers succeeds Dennis Wolff, who was fired March 11 after guiding the Terriers to a 17-13 mark this season. Wolff had a 247-197 record in 15 seasons with Boston University.
