UNIONDALE, N.Y., April 4 (UPI) -- Yann Danis stopped 29-of-30 shots Saturday when the New York Islanders skated to a 3-1 win over the Tampa Lightning.

The lone goal Danis surrendered in the battle of place teams -- the Islanders in the Atlantic Division and the Lightning in the Southeast -- was Matt Pettinger's (power play) at 16:38 of the second period.

Richard Park scored in the first for New York. Radek Martinek scored in the second (power play) and Josh Bailey (power play) scored in the third for the Islanders.

The Islanders snapped a three-game losing streak. The loss was Tampa Bay's sixth in a row.

Lightning netminder Mike McKenna was beaten three times on 21 shots.
