CASCAIS, Portugal, April 4 (UPI) -- Paul Broadhurst shot 4-under-par 67 Saturday and carries a one-stroke lead in the fourth and final round of the European Tour's Open de Portugal in Cascais.

His 54-hole total, 7-under 206, leads the trio of Jamie Donaldson (67), Maarten Lafeber (64) and David Lynn (65).

Broadhurst began the third round tied for fourth place with three others.

He parred the first hole, and bogeyed the second and third.

It got better with six birdies from that point.

"There must be something in the beer in Portugal," he joked. "The windy conditions suit my game. After struggling with my putter for two or three months it seems to be working."

At 5-under 208, overnight leader Ross McGowan (71) is tied for fifth place with 1999 British Open champion Paul Lawrie (68).

A total of 18 golfers are within four shots of Broadhurst's lead.
