COL BKB: Texas-El Paso 70, Oregon St. 63

EL PASO, Texas, April 2 (UPI) -- Stefon Jackson scored 28 points Wednesday and Texas-El Paso held off Oregon State 70-63 to even the College Basketball Invitational final at a game each.

The teams will meet in the third and deciding game Friday.

Jackson made 9-of-20 shots from the field and hit 10-of-14 from the foul line, including three in the final minute while the Miners were scoring the game's final five points.

Randy Culpepper added 17 points for Texas-El Paso (23-13). The Miners overcame a five-point halftime deficit.

Oregon State (17-18) was led by Roeland Schaftenaar with 17 points.
