
MEMPHIS, April 1 (UPI) -- Mike Conley scored 22 points Wednesday, including four foul shots in the final minute, leading Memphis past Washington 112-107.
Rudy Gay added 25 points, and both Marc Gasol and O.J. Mayo had 18, helping the Grizzlies win for the third time in four games following a five-game losing streak.
It was the eighth loss in nine outings for the Wizards. Caron Butler had 31 points for Washington and Antawn Jamison 28.
Brendan Hayward made his first appearance of the season for the Wizards, having sat out the campaign with a wrist injury. He played 24 minutes and scored two points.
Washington overcame a 15-point deficit to start the fourth period and tied the game with 1:23 left on Butler's jump shot. Conley put Washington back in front for good by hitting two free throws with 24 seconds remaining.
