Ex-NBA player Blount pleads in pot case

CINCINNATI, April 1 (UPI) -- An Ohio judge agreed Wednesday to dismiss marijuana trafficking charges against former NBA player Corie Blount in a plea deal.

In exchange, the 40-year-old Blount pleaded guilty to two felony possession counts that carry a maximum prison term of 40 years, the Cincinnati Enquirer reported. Sentencing was set for May 13.

Blount was arrested in December at his home in Butler County after authorities seized 29 pounds of pot at properties he owns.

Blount played 10 years in the NBA for six teams, including two stints with the Chicago Bulls. He was drafted by the Bulls out of the University of Cincinnati where he played in the 1992 Final Four.
